When facing complex problems, governments often reach for the simplest and most familiar solutions. In Winnipeg, that tendency shows up in how we plan for growth of our transportation network.

Fun fact: Halifax is not allowed to set a speed limit below 50 km/h without permission from the province.
And the province only considers reductions to 40, not to 30, in most cases.
And the criteria includes a study of whether drivers are already driving close to 40 km/h!

There are a lot of women in this city doing the crucial work of building and holding together community, who people go to when they have a problem, who get people together to fix it, but who aren’t the loud guy taking up all the space or bossing people. If that’s you, we need you at city hall. (4/)

One of the best ways to reach our community has been @ianmccausland.bsky.social idea to bring Coffee Outside to Winnipeg. This past Friday we had the last one of the year and celebrated by handing out over 60 breakfast sandwiches! Thank you to Harrison’s Coffee and to our volunteers.
