Just minutes after I did this interview, a driver crashed into the ghost bike installed along this stretch. Come on. Let's go here, @scottgillingham.bsky.social, let's do Vision Zero and stop delaying public safety.
My interview on @cbcradiocanada.bsky.social this morning, talking about the public engagement on Wellington Crescent and the plans for a temporary solution www.youtube.com/live/Tc8ji1x...

Like, I can't stop thinking about this... Was there any public engagement? Any consultations? Did we do a fucking study?
One of the ways to "clean-up" the city, and avoid having garbage cans rummaged through is to spend money on housing and feeding the vulnerable population, not just fancy garbage cans.
One of the things that really bothers me downtown is seeing garbage bins sitting wide open and trash on the sidewalks.
We’re fixing that.
New lockable bins are being installed along Main St & Portage Ave to help keep downtown cleaner. If they work as well as we expect, we’ll look to add more.

Everything that happens on social media coming from City Hall will be about campaigning for the next elections. Unfortunately we have been watching how @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social campaigned by promising free transit, housing and humanity. Every candidate will have to do better and we're watching.

#Montreal, under Mayor @valplante.bsky.social has been a beacon among North American cities.
City now has:
✅ 1,000 Bixi stands, with 12,600 bikes
✅ 1,083 kms of bike lanes
✅ 9.4 kms of streets pedestrianized
But there's an election on Nov. 2, and things are likely to change...

Let Emma’s victory to be an encouragement to all the quiet leaders putting in the work of building our community, and a warning to the politically ambitious cynics aiming to tear others down in order to build themselves up. Lobbing culture war bombs and stoking driver grievances won’t cut it.
Yes. @emmaewood.bsky.social did a wildly brave thing in sticking her neck out for all of us, putting herself forward in this climate of vitriol and reaction, and proved that the good person *can* win, and commandingly so. It is worth it to run. (1/)
