Just do whatever, literally nobody cares about the internal plot consistency of Bond films! I'd even argue that trying to maintain a consistent narrative across the Craig era ended up massively bogging those films down. Throw logic out the window and have fun
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

Wild story on how London was very nearly destroyed by motorways in the 1960s. Of particular interest to me: my local park was apparently nearly a motorway to Gatwick (a place I can now get to in less than an hour by train without having my local green space replaced by cars and concrete)

Go raibh maith agat Michael D Higgins. A good man, first and foremost. He'll be very much missed as president.

Full-back is an interesting problem for the coming games with both Keenan and Osborne out. Jimmy O'Brien feels the most obvious candidate, but my sense is Farrell has also viewed Hansen as full-back cover previously, and I wonder if we might see him there. Stockdale also an option but less likely.
Stu and Mack back in the picture for Australia but Osborne unsurprisingly ruled out and Josh and Ringer emerging as doubts. Darragh Murray called up to the squad as cover.

Guillermo Del Toro has apparently been trying to get this made for years which makes sense when you think he's made his career out of empathising with outsiders and monsters. What better way to depict those themes than Frankenstein?
45) Frankenstein

Grand, sumptuous, visually striking and entertainingly gruesome. One of the better adaptations of the novel.

Btw any sort of win for England against NZ at the weekend would send them into second place given other fixtures. An Ireland loss of any kind to Australia would drop us to 5th (unless France were to lose to Fiji), which would be our lowest since 2021.
Continue to find it very funny that the World Rugby rankings place us a full two spots above France, a team that pumped us at home a few months ago and who are almost objectively better than us.

This isn't a revolutionary government. But as a Labour government, it does need to be the people's representative to the system. So far it's acted as the system's representative to the people - "no, you can't have that, tough choices". And time is running out to deliver outcomes by the election

Belgium beat Namibia over the weekend btw, meaning unless Namibia shock Samoa (and Belgium don't manage the same) the Welwitschias won't make the World Cup for the first time since 1995.
Unfortunately won't catch a minute of the rugby tomorrow but while France v NZ is obviously the headliner, keep an eye on Belgium v Namibia in the World Cup qualifier. Genuinely a tough one to call, and whoever wins will in effect be up against Samoa for the final World Cup spot.

Jac Morgan being injured would be a blow to any team but it's a legit disaster for Wales. One of their few legitimately world class players at the moment.

Satisfying performance from Ireland A yesterday albeit against admittedly limited opposition. Byrne in particular continued his strong start to the season and I thought Postlethwaite and Kelly combined well. The latter two are the kind of young midfielders we need to see more of in the Ireland squad

Finally caught up on Ireland Japan. Comfortable in the end but not overly convincing, particularly in that first half. Pack not dominating the collisions, handling and poor passing killing promising moves. Lineout again woeful. Bench made an impact. O'Brien deserved POTM.

The most pressing issue facing Irish rugby at the moment is whatever is going on with Craig Casey's hair

Had forgotten until I read it just now that Mary Shelley started writing Frankenstein when she was 19. Imagine writing one of the most famous books in the English canon while still a teenager.

The last broadly faithful major film adaptation of Frankenstein was Kenneth Branagh's 1994 one, which was itself the first one in decades. For your average cinema-goer who hasn't read the book (which will be most people) this may well be the first time they've encountered the original narrative.
I do think it's kinda fascinating on a sociological level that GDT'S apparently (I'm yet to see it) broadly faithful Frankenstein adaptation is being seen as so innovative because a century of more schlocky adaptations have turned the monster into essentially a stock Hammer Horror villain.

This is a deeply upsetting story, and what's worse is that it's far from the only one. AI companies not doing nearly enough to manage the mental health risks associated with the use of chatbots, which without reform is going to emerge as a genuine crisis.
