14 man Belgium survive a scare to get past Brazil, meaning they'll play Samoa in a winner takes all match for World Cup qualification. Samoa will be favourites, although I wouldn't rule out Belgium entirely.

Namibia fail to make the World Cup for the first time since 1995.

So much pace in this team. They're going to target Lowe and our midfield, and rain kicks on Hansen.
November 13, 2025 at 2:53 PM
Largely as predicted by Thornley but Paddy McCarthy starts: what a season he's having. Hansen at full back will be interesting to see. Hope Timoney and Cian get some decent time off the bench.
November 13, 2025 at 2:04 PM
Thornley's Possibles suggest we will indeed see Hansen at 15, with Henshaw and Stu in midfield, Sam and JGP starting at halfback, and Doris shifting to 7 in absence of Josh. Timoney and Prendergast cover the backrow from the bench. If true would be Timoney's first cap against T1 opposition I believe

There is truly no surer sign of being trapped in the Westminster bubble thank thinking that the person to reverse Labour's tanking poll numbers is Wes Streeting.

Wild story on how London was very nearly destroyed by motorways in the 1960s. Of particular interest to me: my local park was apparently nearly a motorway to Gatwick (a place I can now get to in less than an hour by train without having my local green space replaced by cars and concrete)

Stu and Mack back in the picture for Australia but Osborne unsurprisingly ruled out and Josh and Ringer emerging as doubts. Darragh Murray called up to the squad as cover.

Continue to find it very funny that the World Rugby rankings place us a full two spots above France, a team that pumped us at home a few months ago and who are almost objectively better than us.

45) Frankenstein

Grand, sumptuous, visually striking and entertainingly gruesome. One of the better adaptations of the novel.

The most pressing issue facing Irish rugby at the moment is whatever is going on with Craig Casey's hair

Fondly remembering this Sun headline from a few years back.
November 7, 2025 at 12:29 PM
A fun team with 14 uncapped players picked for Ireland A's game against Spain. Paul Boyle a surprise inclusion, having not been in the original wider squad announcement. Is Jansen injured?
November 6, 2025 at 3:29 PM
The original headline was, somehow, even worse
November 6, 2025 at 2:36 PM
Heavy rotation as expected for Japan. Farrell gets a first cap, Doris returns to the starting squad, Casey & Crowley start together, rare starts for Stockdale and Timoney, Gus and Paddy in a young replacement front row, with C Prendergast, Blade and JOB among the other fringe players on the bench

Well Turnstile were incredible. I'm more bruise than man. What a crowd, what a show, what a band.

Far, far too obvious a bit of clickbait, Telegraph must really be in a lot of financial trouble. (Obviously do not give them the hate clicks they're so desperate for).

No lying or making yourself out to be a cool kid.
Post the first record you bought.
If you can remember the shop or circumstances add that too. Local color appreciated.

Bought in a Fnac somewhere in Paris, where I was living at the time.

Crowley starts at 10, with Sam on the bench in a 5-3. Doris and Aki on the bench with Stu and Conan starting ahead of them. The big surprise is Paddy McCarthy on the bench ahead of Boyle. A potential first cap against the All Blacks!

Anyway, the Tories allowed their new rising star to make up policy on the hoof and it was so batshit insane they've had to say (a couple weeks later) that oops, we didn't really mean we were going to send all the legally resident foreigners home
