Yes, the Pogues’ Fairytale of New York is an all-time great Christmas tune. But I decided a few years ago that I couldn’t in good conscience keep listening to a tune (and putting money into the pockets of the Pogues and record labels) that uses a slur for my friends in the LGBTQIA+ community.

When Charlie Kirk was killed, I agreed that while he was a vile human being who contributed nothing of value to society, he didn’t deserve to die, and I sincerely felt awful for his surviving wife, Erika.

But the more I see of Erika Kirk, you know what? Fuck her, too.

(And if you missed the point, it’s that Trump was indicted not because of politics, but because there was strong evidence he was guilty of multiple crimes.)
When Trump was indicted by the DOJ, MAGA insisted it was Biden weaponizing the system, and that it proved nothing, because “you can indict a ham sandwich”. Now, as Trump and Bondi ACTUALLY weaponize the system, MAGA is learning getting an indictment against an innocent person isn’t quite so easy.
At some point if you’re the government, & you understand what doing justice means, you let this case go. If a grand jury won’t indict, a trial jury definitely won’t convict. But it’s hard to move on when the boss wants to get revenge. www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...

Time for another review of the REAL #TrumpInflationCrisis. I compared prices on Biden's last day in office versus 12/9/25 prices under Trump's ecomonic "genius". My standard Kroger "cart" is up 10%+. These items are jacked up the most, often accompanied by shrinkflation. Are we winning yet?

This is the kind of thing that particularly terrifies them. Nothing threatens a Christian Nationalist movement like pushback from an actual Christian sect.
ICE’s acting director ordered a Boston Catholic parish to tear down its Advent Nativity scene—stripped of baby Jesus and branded with the message “ICE WAS HERE.” The parish priest is refusing, citing he pope’s call to stand with migrants. It's another chapter in Kristi Noem's war on Christians.
“ICE Was Here”: Pope Leo-Inspired Nativity Scene Sparks MAGA Outrage
A Nativity scene missing Jesus — and marked with an “ICE was here” sign — has triggered cries of “politicizing Christmas.” The parish priest says he’s answering Pope Leo's call to welcome stranger.
