I came to this country as a child refugee. No English, no certainty, no idea what my life could become. Britain gave me refuge.

Not on a timer, not with conditions attached, but with a chance to grow roots.

UK set to limit refugees to temporary stays
Shabana Mahmood is expected to say the era of permanent protection for refugees is over, in major changes to the UK's asylum and immigration system.

Anyone who undergoes a development of consciousness is immediately assailed by a sense of abandonment and excommunication from most of the values that formerly sustained one. The old kingdom dissolves beneath and one is left to feel exiled and without any container for life.~Robert A. Johnson

Caller on Nicky Campbell this morning: "None of us were there, we will never know what happened, and the Jeffrey Epstein is dead, this is a plot against Trump".

Yeah, mate, sorry, if things worked like that any defendant could ask the judge if they were there. "No? Well I call for a mistrial!"

Pizzagate: If you replace the word “hot dog” with “little boy” and “pizza party” with “child sex orgy,” you will see the lengths these elites go to cover up their crimes.

"Neoliberalism was a technique of power. It did its job as a mechanism for profit, securing low-cost access to resources and cheap labour. It was never really about growth, efficiency or enlarging the pie for everyone."
Neoliberalism – lurching onwards
Part one showed how neoliberalism worsened inequality and failed to raise economic growth – here, the author shows how it succeeded in its true aim

A reminder that this anti-trans panic is 100% bullshit and exactly none of our country’s problems are related to someone expressing their gender identity and everyone who isn’t a hate-filled weirdo knows it.

I’m fascinated by this theory but it might answer the question “Whatever happened to serial killers?”
‘After environmental regulations were finally enforced and leaded gas phased out, crime in general plunged and the so-called “golden age of serial killers” came to an abrupt end.’

After lots of well-guided speculation, we now have proof that far-right propagandists in Portland have been directly coordinating—through at least text message—with ICE agents.

In this case, Chelly got permission from a "Travis D." inside to stand on a half-wall off limits to protesters.

The lawsuit seeks $10,000 in damages from Chelly Bouferrache.

I think the problem here is that once you’ve e.g. told left wing voters that you despise them, ripped off Enoch Powell in your migrant crackdown speech and literally facilitated genocide, it’ll be hard to convince people that you actually like them and you aren’t into racism and murders.

The first friend I recall having was Shoshana, my neighbour. We had a thin wire fence between our gardens. My parents were communists and athiests, hers were Jewish, older, I suppose now had escaped Nazi Europe. They left for Israel at some point and I missed her. My first crush?

It's often difficult for men - and women - to think in terms of masculine and feminine as aspects of every human, and perhaps we'll find a more universal language, but we could all benefit from finding a balance between what society considers these to be. A whole human.
In feminine reality, contrasts are not so sharply seen and drawn. The masculine element sees things in bright sunlight; this is this and that is that. The feminine is like seeing in the moonlight; things kind of blend together, and they’re not so distinct from one another.~Edward Whitmont

This [im my opinion] is a breach of human rights.

"Pat McFadden, minister for work and pensions, said that in place of the current system, where doctors sign patients off sick, there was a case to shift to a system of assessments by non-medical practitioners."
