According to a source, Jenna Norton, who led a letter criticizing Trump's decimation of the NIH (see below), has been placed on administrative leave. She's the first at NIH to be put on leave, joining EPA officials who criticized Trump policies.

There — I fixed the analysis so it is actually accurate to what happened when 8 Senate Dems caved instead of keeping up the righteous fight to deliver lower health care costs for Americans.

In response to this claim that the "strategy didn't work."

The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting.

And giving in now will embolden him. Things will likely get worse.

Hilarious seeing @punchbowlnews.bsky.social provide cover for @schumer.senate.gov here. The Democratic whip did not "break" with his party. This was orchestrated by Schumer with a unified caucus.

Van Hollen should be voted in as Senate Minority leader immediately
The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

I’m voting no on the continuing resolution that would double healthcare premiums for 20 million Americans, kick 15 million people off Medicaid & allow 50,000 Americans to die unnecessarily every year.

All to give $1 trillion in tax breaks for billionaires.

Senator Schumer is no longer effective and should be replaced. If you can’t lead the fight to stop healthcare premiums from skyrocketing for Americans, what will you fight for?

Since the Democrats worked extra hard to hide who actually supported this, I think the No Kings/Resistance position should be to primary every Democrat unless they publicly call for Schumer's ouster this week

Either they go into total rebellion mode, which they won't, or the people will

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

SNAP benefits are under attack during this government shutdown and food banks are picking up the slack.

But they need your help. Here are the best ways to do that:

I need someone who has known childhood hunger to justify KBJ’s decision to me. All the think pieces read as out of touch. There is this blind faith in institutions which are currently failing across the board. It looks like she is protecting the admin from the consequences of not funding SNAP.
November 8, 2025 at 1:42 PM
The sheer volume of technical justifications I see from people defending KBJ for issuing this stay makes me sick. I do not care why she did it. It is wrong and enabling of an authoritarian govt trying to starve its own people. 42 million people depend on SNAP.
