Comms for NWLC. Baking for everyone around me. Also occupied by WoSo, crosswords, Philly sports, books, tea, the weather, pickleball, and trying not to screw up my kids. She/her.
Update. I asked nicely for her to raise the salary cap. I said please and everything. And smiled. So.
I hope Berman is sitting in front of me again today at the game. We could get a little “raise the cap” and “pay the players” chant going.
ofc i’m team no cap but the thing that infuriates me is that even a bump to $5m, 7 or 10 would be enough. like ok if you’re worried about parity because you know you still have broke bois, they can handle $10m. keeping it below $4m, in this era, is telling many of your best players to leave.

you could fact check this — there aren’t 30 million illegal immigrants and there is no evidence that the presence of an immigrant in say houston has any impact on housing in madison, wisconsin — or you could note straightforwardly that this is just nazi rhetoric
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.

We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

Last night, we went to the USDA building to send a big message to Trump: Half isn't good enough—FULLY fund SNAP. Trump has the power to stop this but chooses politics over people. One in eight families rely on SNAP, and half funding means hunger. Don't starve families so you can play politics.

Hey USDA and Pres. Trump: women and families are tired of your political games. Half the funding for SNAP means many families will still be going hungry. It means moms will still skip meals so their children have something to eat.

Enough.

It's clear: Trump thinks Black women don't deserve power, and and that the government is simply a tool to punish anyone who tries to hold him accountable. Trump is an authoritarian who wants to jail his enemies so he can make himself and his friends richer—and he's endangering our democracy.

Everyone here has an interest in pretending it’s not happening, because otherwise they’ll have to disrupt their lives. Of course, they have an even stronger interest in seeing the situation accurately, but they’re taking the path of least resistance until they can’t.
No one outside the U.S. is confused and no one here would be confused if they saw this happening in another country.
Hegseth fires general officers and JAGs, cracks down on dissenting views in military, orders killing civilians at sea without legal rationale, calls generals to Quantico to demand loyalty.

Trump deploys troops to U.S. cities.

"What are Trump and Hegseth up to? It's a mystery!"

As usual with this issue, Harris is calling for a compromise that already exists. Every sporting body has standards for how long athletes must be on hormones before they can compete as women.

The problem isn’t that we’re ignoring ‘reasonable concerns,’ the problem is that republicans are lying.
