Now AG Pam Bondi is using ICE as leverage to extort MN Gov Tim Walz. This is Trump’s tried and true formula: inflict pain and then demand payment to make it stop.

Read Bondi’s Letter to Minnesota’s Governor
Attorney General Pam Bondi sent a letter to Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota on Saturday that blamed him and other Democratic officials for allowing “lawlessness” in the state. It was not immediately clear ...

Whatever happened to that group of Democratic governors that met in Colorado to plan how to collectively fight against our fashy FedExecs?

The @republicanpartygop.bsky.social, w frighteningly few exceptions, are brainwashed acolytes in a doomsday cult & too often, Dems claim powerlessness.

All of this is fucking senseless. Minnesota did not have an immigration problem. Trump sent his Nazi thugs here because he's racist against Somali people and to own libs like Tim Walz. Now two Minnesotans are dead and Minneapolis is on the verge of going up in flames. None. Of. This. Was. Necessary.

ICE has now carried out two summary executions of innocent people in the streets of an American city.

If you work for ICE, there's no denying that's the mission you're supporting now. You don't get to claim in one year or ten or twenty that you didn't know what ICE was doing. You're complicit.

One of the most powerful ways to limit ICE's reach is to rein in sheriffs and stop letting local police & jails collaborate with the federal agency.

When states take a hard stance against ICE, communities are better off and more protected from the deportation agenda:

In October, ICE grabbed Maher Tarabishi.

He was a 24/7 caregiver for his disabled son Wael.

At the time of Maher’s detention, disability advocates warned that taking away Wael’s caregiver put his life at risk.

Wael died on Friday at age 30.

ICE caused his death.

They didn’t get to say goodbye.
Disabled son of ICE detainee dies after 30 days of hospitalization
It had been months since Wael Tarabishi seen his father. The family is calling on ICE to release Maher Tarabishi so he may attend his son's funeral.

I really can't state this enough.

Federal agents have been teargassing parks and residential neighborhoods for weeks but didn't show up for a fight downtown today and look what didn't happen.

Wishing absolute worst wishes to our occupying forces. GTFO of Minnesota.
Note how there's no violence or chaos when the cops aren't rioting.
Demonstrators as far as the eye can see. Current status of the march in Downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota for Ice Out of Minnesota. They are turning onto 3rd Street from 5th Avenue.

The Twin Cities in Minnesota showed the nation how to show up in this particular moment in time, space, and place. @ninaturner.bsky.social suggested weekly protests in the US. #FridaysForTheFuture meets #FridaysAgainstFascism.

My question now is this: Which city comes next?

Time for everyone paying attention to Minnesota's General Strike to read up on Aquatennial & Bloody Friday - Minneapolis
The last general strike in Minneapolis was in 1934.

It started in May, leading to a series of small battles between strikers and police. The two sides agreed to a contract on May 25.

Employers reneged in July, and police opened fire on protesters who flooded the streets. Two died, 67 were wounded.

One more takeaway from this NY Times poll is that 1 in 4 Republicans don't think ICE has gone far enough in terrorizing communities.
Poll shows over 90% of Democrats believe ICE has gone too far- yet these 7 Democrats voted to fully fund ICE with ZERO conditions. Reps. Henry Cuellar (TX), Jared Golden (Maine), Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (Wash.), Laura Gillen (N.Y.), Don Davis (N.C.), Tom Suozzi (N.Y.) and Vicente Gonzalez (Texas).

The 5-year-old arrested by ICE In Minnesota is detained at Dilley. We reported on conditions there in the below article.

Parents said the food was contaminated with mold and worms & that children were so under so much stress that they were hitting their own faces & wetting themselves.
Analysis by The Marshall Project of ICE data obtained by the Deportation Data Project found that the Trump administration’s revival of family detention has swept thousands of children into ICE custody. At least 3,800 children under 18, including 20 infants, have been booked since Trump took office.
ICE Threw Thousands of Kids in Detention, Many For Longer Than Court-Prescribed Limit
Former immigration staffers argue ICE is choosing to detain families for prolonged periods to speed deportations and compel them to leave.
