My favorite Chinese interpretation of the Milky Way is “The River of Stars.”
There’s something wonderfully poetic about that name. “The River of Stars” — 银河 (Yínhé) — feels less like astronomy and more like a doorway into myth, memory, and the way a culture imagines its place in the cosmos.

After blocking my swatch last night, I find that I am close to stitch gauge and way off on row gauge. @pattylyons.bsky.social says needle material can make a significant difference, so I'm going to switch from bamboo to metal. Other advice? Yarn is a cotton blend chainette. #VinterlandCardigan

Ice accretion should begin just about as soon as rain starts to fall given that temps are slowly falling at the moment and in the mid 20s to low 30s across the region, so travel will become hazardous fairly quickly, and certainly before midnight.

People really don't understand what an extraordinary energy revolution China is creating right now. They're installing 1GW of solar a DAY. It's not slowing down either. They just peaked their emissions and we could see them phase out coal by the end of the decade.
In 2024, China installed 1.5x as much new solar as the entire US installed base.

Schools also routinely and heavily use G👀gle tools, which might be the worst idea of all. So NOT private.
All this screen free parenting and screen free schools conveniently omits to discuss how schools insist on ten apps, take fingerprints to pay for food and share children’s data with third parties via edtech or the government. We just focus on phones. And that will come back to haunt these people.
