I've been wondering what an indie designer is, too. I mean, some big yarn or craft companies hire people to write patterns for particular yarns. Is that non-indie? @livrunsfast.bsky.social would you please help us understand?

The true appeal of the Sophie Scarf. I live in a cold US state, so lately I've been cranking out bulky wool-blend hats for donating to folks in need. Very satisfying. Quick to knit and a real boon to someone who is homeless or can't afford warm gear for their children. 🧶

Will garlic deter them? We've had to dispatch the rats, which is sad, but I don't want our foundation ruined.

I planted 75 garlic bulbs (actually cloves) last week. I have about 150-200 more to put in. My flower bulbs are just sitting in a bag. REALLY need to get this done!

Completely understand. If black were a color I loved, I would feel the same way. Fortunately for my eyesight, it is not, so I easily and happily give it up. It occasionally makes an appearance in small ways, but I can fulfill my Earth Mother foresty academic fashion dreams with other colors.

I refuse to use black yarn anymore unless it's on something quite open and drapey. 🧶

Can't tell how it happened, but you can hold them together with a locking stitch marker until it's time to pick up & knit the edges of the flap and then work them separately into that process. You might need to close a small hole when you are finished. Alternatively, of course, you can rip back. 🧶
