I really don’t understand why this is under discussion. Communists are gonna do what they do. They are not a relevant group to the outcomes of U.S. elections. Certainly not federal ones.

Let the Communists have their reading circles and sniping about who is more Marxist than thou. Leave them be.

the Epstein files are really devastating because they remind me of how many girls and women miss out on professional opportunities, mentorship and careers because of how many powerful, rich and influential men only view girls and women — and interactions with them — through the lens of sex

If Jeff Bezos could afford to spend $75 million on the Melania movie & $500 million for a yacht to sail off to his $55 million wedding to give his wife a $5 million ring, please don't tell me he needed to fire one-third of the Washington Post staff.

Democracy dies in oligarchy.

one of my strongest beliefs is that we're in our situation right now bc some of the most prominent talking heads (e.g. joe rogan, andrew schulz) are learning about politics in their 40s and 50s, instead of their teens and early 20s, and we have to go along for the ride as they learn basic things

One lesson from the Epstein–Mandelson affair is that we need to stop routinely rehabilitating political careers after serious scandals.

When politicians knowingly engage in grave ethical wrongdoing, that should permanently end their political careers. Being "talented" should not override that.

worth noting that the second rich people stopped being afraid of mobs tearing them limb from limb, they stopped building libraries and opera houses and stuff and started ripping the copper wiring out of the walls of society instead

Bezos isn't destroying the Washington Post because it isn't profitable. He's destroying the Washington Post because he's calculated that a robust free press threatens the ability of his class to warp society around their interests

Just sort of musing on this idea today: a lot of whites who are drawing comparisons to 1930's Germany know that the U.S. has its own history of violent racism and nativism.

But saying "it's always been like this" doesn't expand the circle.

Again, shout out to the observers on ICE Watch who stand there and bear witness and create the record. This is dangerous work.
happening this morning in Minneapolis -- ICE agents drawing guns on observers. I reiterate again that it is only a matter of time before DHS kills more innocent people in Minnesota. Congress needs to shut this shit down right now.

He's right. Calling things "cringe" is frankly stupid. Let people live, express themselves and be authentic to who they are.

Critical Role's Matthew Mercer argues cringe culture discourages authenticity (and I kinda agree with him)
Critical Role’s Matthew Mercer says the word “cringe” is overused, and it denigrates people for being their authentic selves

NO. The body cameras simply contribute to the surveillance state, and unless an independent, public body is in control of turning them on or off, and reviewing the footage, this does not help. It makes things worse.
This should have been the case long before they killed two Americans.

Border patrol agents should never have been sent in masks and camo to wreak havoc and aimlessly run around a state 1,500 miles from the Southern border.

Every Homeland Security officer in Minneapolis is now being issued a body-worn camera, Noem says
The secretary of Homeland Security is requiring that all officers on the ground in Minneapolis wear body cameras.

All of these people need to be put up against a wall.
The techno-fascist pedophile axis is aligned on destroying democracy. Good to know!

Then prosecute every single person under their umbrella. All of them, no exceptions.
Abolish ICE.

There’s no reforming it.

There’s no compromise.

There’s only one way to rein in ICE’s terror campaign. Abolish it.

I met Deepak Chopra once—he is an insufferable dickhead. Just an entitled, rude asshole. His connection to Epstein is completely unsurprising.
So Deepak Chopra was at least email friends with Epstein and even asked him if he knew Marla Maples and asked for his discretion about the question but "I trust you". Yeah so Deepak Chopra sure seems to be involved. www.thedailybeast.com/epstein-emai...

Yes!! All of this! The entire thread. The 2024 election was a fucking simple-Simon choice, and Americans fucked it up. We need to look that self-immolation in the face.
I see someone has placed me on a list called "Voter Scapegoating"

You damn right I will hold you accountable for these deaths and this chaos. Nobody else will. You get 0 understanding from me about thos because of one point only.

This one made me sadder than I expected a Pitchbot post to make me.
The fact that there was significant public push-back against the murder of two protesters by Trump's secret police shows that our democracy is still strong and resilient.

I have zero context for any of this, as I do not follow Texas politics, in the same way that I do not watch grass grow.

But, we're seeing just a master class in stepping on every available rake down there, so let's view Texas Democrats as a cautionary tale and strive to do better everywhere else.
