@alexhorne.bsky.social how come no-one on Taskmaster ever seems to break the seals properly to read the tasks? They all just seem to peel them off the paper instead.

Since I was a training curate, I've used the old Christmas Tree to make a cross for Good Friday. Somehow I never thought until this weekend that I could then cut it up to make fuel for the Easter Fire.

My first thought was Terry Pratchett's octarine: The Colour of Magic.
Scientists claim to have discovered 'new colour' no one has seen before
"Olo" is said to be a saturated blue-green - but some say the existence of a new colour is "open to argument".

My husband has taught human reproduction and development to the Cambridge medics for over three decades. When people start banging on about "only two biological sexes" he starts with "which sex: genetic, hormonal, or gonadal"?

Biological sex is not binary. www.scientificamerican.com/article/sex-...

Biologists now think there is a larger spectrum than just binary female and male

Every cathedral climb I do is, at its core, a story about people, just as much as it's about crumbling staircases, dizzying heights, and old stone.

But even with that in mind, Truro was a little bit special:

This is a timeless note of advice on how to be a good writer, from none other than C. S. Lewis.

The wisdom is simple yet profound, and Point 5 stands out as especially important these days.

Got cornered by the Cathedral Head Verger who went "we're decorating the Christmas tree with things symbolising communities we have relationships with. Make one that symbolises St Nick's"

And the look of mischief that stole across my face made her immediately go: "one that's CATHEDRAL APPROPRIATE"
