Since I was a training curate, I've used the old Christmas Tree to make a cross for Good Friday. Somehow I never thought until this weekend that I could then cut it up to make fuel for the Easter Fire.

The concluding prayer for Vespers (evening prayer) from the Benedictine Shorter Breviary seems to me something many need to hear.

Black-faced Ibis just casually strolling around a park in Goiânia. Brazil is beautiful.
Pictured is a black-faced Ibis, a medium-sized insect-eating bird with golden head, neck, and breast, grey wings folded back over its body orange legs, and a black face like a Zorro mask leading into a long, downward-pointing narrow beak like an ant-eater (but sharp). Here it's happily strolling through the grass.
