On Aug 29, a cyclist was killed at Elmira Rd N & Massey Rd in Guelph.

On Oct 18, we’ll ride together to honour their life and install a ghost bike donated by ARC - Advocacy for Respect for Cyclists to call for safer streets for everyone who walks, wheels, and rides.

I’ve seen SO many “mixed bike” couples out and about - one partner on a regular bike, one on an ebike. I love that this technology makes it so people with different physical abilities can ride together.

Rather than heed the advice of his government’s own experts that ripping out protected bike lanes WILL NOT solve traffic congestion, Doug Ford is wasting taxpayer money and playing politics with your fundamental rights and freedoms.
Internal government documents reveal (again) that Doug Ford is misleading Ontarians. The government’s claim in response to Cycle Toronto’s Bill 212 legal challenge that they only intend to “reconfigure” bike lanes is false. Design work supported by Canadian engineering firm Stantec identifies sections of the Bloor and Yonge bike lanes for “priority removal“. On Sep 19, a pickup truck driver killed a mother while hospitalizing her 3-year-old daughter and husband.

103 pedestrians/cyclists were killed or severely injured by motorists in #Guelph last year - none by cyclists.

On September 19, someone's mom was killed in Guelph by the driver of a pickup truck. The driver has now been charged. (Mom was killed but her husband and 3-year-old daughter in a stroller were struck as well!!!) On August 29, a Guelph cyclist was killed by the driver of a garbage truck. The driver has now been charged. But today, the @guelphpoliceservice announce a month long campaign of enforcement against people on bikes to ensure they know the rules of the road? This is a police service demonstrating a failure to adequately respond to road safety issues. It lacks compassion and empathy for the two people (and their families) who were killed by dangerous and careless drivers. The Service should be reviewed and it's priorities dictated to it by Guelph City Council as GPS appear unable/unwilling to address the true dangers on our roadways. The lack of compassion, understanding, nuance, etc. boils our blood and rocks our faith in the Service to it's core. I doubt we are alone.
