Airline #Privacy is a serious problem, as airlines essentially have no privacy requirements (Dept of Transportation started investigating airline privacy practices last year but the agency has since dropped it).

You should opt out of this practice ASAP.

This is a fundamental point that 99% of higher-ed coverage, and 100% of immig coverage, have missed.
A lot of people think that every international student admitted means one fewer spot for domestic students, when the opposite is more likely true - the tuition revenue international students bring allows public universities to provide substantial discounts to domestic students, improving access.

it's so funny to see America's health insurance companies be like "look. If there's one thing we love it's denying you care. but we ran the numbers - and we cannot BELIEVE we're saying this - and it's cheaper for us to just pay for the vaccines than deal with you going to the ER."
Regardless of the disgraceful nonsense we will likely hear from this administration in the coming days on vaccine “recommendations,” Americas healthcare insurers issued a joint statement tonight saying coverage for Covid and flu shots will remain unchanged from prior years.

Speaks for itself.

Heads up to those of you affected by the Columbia University data breach: they’ve sent out breach notices (offering 2 years of credit monitoring)…to the address they have on file from when you applied. Even if you got in and attended and they know perfectly well where you now live.
Have other people impacted by the Columbia data breach heard anything back from the university?
I have in fact reached out to Columbia about this as I am potentially directly affected and so far I haven't heard back. It's super encouraging!
