WHY do museums/theaters/zoos/gardens not offer single pass gift certificates during the holiday season?! So many parents want experience gifts for their children. No one has $400 for a membership. Especially not grandma on her fixed income. No one can prioritize going that often.

DHS lies constantly, and this has been confirmed in court. There is no evidence that any shots were fired at federal agents. The fact that the claim has no known basis in fact should be out front here.

Department of Homeland Security agents were shot at during an immigration enforcement operation in Chicago Saturday, the agency said — as federal agents were also accused of using pepper spray and flash-bang grenades against protesters across the Chicago area.

I’m just a silly little plebe but to my mind there is nothing “centrist” or “moderate” about caving to a party of radicalized fascists who are actively fighting to starve people. 🤗 I guess that’s just me though because I keep seeing this framing…

I’m old enough to remember when SCOTUS stopped the counting of ballots and called an election, and all the subsequent war crimes abroad and losses of civil liberties at home. There is a direct line from Dick Cheney to the mess we’re in today. Never forget that.

Less than 2 weeks until publication. I’m still busy as hell working in concert with my community to respond to a federal invasion and regular attacks on our neighbors and their defenders. Any help getting the word out about this book, which I believe can help us all right now, is deeply appreciated.
My publisher’s been very patient. I’m not doing everything I said I’d do to promote this book (out in a few weeks) because I’m an organizer in a city under federal attack. My days are full and emotionally exhausting. Any help getting the word out means a lot. It's a book people need right now.

It’s hard to convey just how much Chicagoans are mobilizing against ICE. Don’t want to downplay the harm, or make it seem like a fair fight. But in neighborhoods across this city, ICE is getting chased by people blowing whistles and shouting. People are running TOWARD ICE to protect their neighbors.

Heard from so many people that they were afraid to attend because of recent rhetoric. Unsurprisingly the rally was peaceful, joyful and packed with people of all races, ages, and backgrounds. Good lesson about not obeying in advance.

Our sweet beagle passed away a year ago. Part of me really longs to get another dog, but the other part of me thinks it would complicate leaving the country quickly if that ever became a necessity. Which feels insane to type “out loud” but is somehow part of the calculus of living in the US now.

I'm genuinely starting to think that the people who say they want to see American's really fight back are really saying they want a specific kind of visible, stereotypical depiction of protest, and have zero zero tolerance for the kind of groundwork it takes to make change happen.

related, when the president is invading our own country, waging war on our own people, i don't wanna see dems give the GOP shit they ask for, don't wanna hear shit bout 'we hope our friends across the aisle will work with us on bipartisan solutions to the problems they cause' i don't want none of it
Look. Invading our own country is about as straightforward a case as you can have for impeachment. The GOP abandoning the Constitution is kind of the only story there is and it gets no coverage.
Guys. I just had a crazy idea. What if the President DIDN’T deploy troops in American cities. Just a thought. Have we tried that before?
