It really is incredible how the Switch is perhaps the greatest video game console for its huge physical collection, and immediately followed that up by one of the worst with the Switch 2.

None of us working in the physical game space anticipated this.
Serebii Update: First look at the box art for Pokémon Pokopia for Nintendo Switch 2.

It will be released as a Game Key Card and require 10GB of space to install

This was an inevitable consequence of tourists glamourizing piracy as some sort of low effort counter culture instead of an under the table loophole.

The first rule of piracy is "shut the fuck up about piracy".

Do you think innuendo and euphemisms are used to be cute?

Fuck you.

Got off light.

One of the many reasons why I can't take Druckman seriously is that "you kill a dog and then have a perspective flip back in time of the bad guy playing with their beloved pet" was something me and my friends came up with during a drunken "make the most pretentious game" convo in 2013.

i describe Executive Dysfunction as moving through syrup. like, imagine if EVERY task from getting up to refill your water glass to cleaning your kitchen required wading through a sticky swamp of mental stasis? and people wonder why we're always tired.

The dumbest part is PS1 discs lowered the price of games and the results speak for themselves: Best selling console at the time, outsold N64 almost 3:1 with four times as much N64 software, and outsold the Genesis and SNES combined in both hardware and software.

When Disney loses money on a $500m Indiana Jones movie we all say "Man, they should spend money less stupidly." We don't say "movies are so expensive to make that we should all pay $50 for AAA movie tickets."

There are a LOT of replies to this that sound like people have given up resistance against the status quo.

"Oh, but 100 dollars is normal for a nice dinner for two nowadays"

"100 dollars is about what it costs to take my family to the movies"

THESE THINGS SHOULD NOT BE THIS EXPENSIVE.
AAA video games should cost $100 on launch. this would still be extremely cheap for the amount of time and enjoyment you get out of them! But an audience of whiny babies has kept them literally at the same price for *two decades* despite both general inflation *and* sector-specific costs rising

Y’all have GOT to stop uncritically sharing Stealth’s posts without checking your sources!

I can’t find a source for when and where Miyamoto supposedly said this or who translated it ANYWHERE and yet my timeline is flooded with takes on it.

I don't know what world you live in where people *aren't* bitching 24/7 about literally everything Pokémon does, even the things that video games have been doing for years, but I'd love to live in that world.
