*Louis Riel rising from his grave for Red River Resistance 2*
"Louis Riel would have been a big supporter of our pipelines and development in the Ring of Fire. He would have seen Canada undermining Indigenous sovereignty to prioritize Canadian 'nation building' projects as an example of reconciliation, of what the Métis fought for in 1869 and 1885."
Carney says Louis Riel's legacy 'helps to unite' Canada at event marking Métis leader's execution | CBC News
Prime Minister Mark Carney laid a wreath at the grave of Louis Riel to mark the 140th anniversary of the Red River Métis leader's execution at a ceremony in Winnipeg on Sunday morning.

There's a lot that's been said about how Canadian politics borrows from America, this is one time when I really hope that people are taking good notes.
Speak plainly. Organize. Show up.

After their worst-ever results in the 2025 federal election, here’s what the NDP can learn from Zohran Mamdani’s mayoral campaign in New York City — which he officially won last night.

From July 2025. #canpoli #uspoli #ZohranMamdani

Wab Kinew seems to be the only leader in this country doing anything good right now.
Wab Kinew's gov't tabled bill 50 in Manitoba that won't allow any future provincial gov't to use the notwithstanding clause for provincial legislation without going through the courts first. This is what a true leader does for his constituents. Alberta's and Quebec's leadership pale in comparison.

Showing my Sims builds to my architect roommates always yields great comments: yesterday the big criticism was my inefficient plumbing and bathroom layouts.

Can we truly say we're better than the US when we have Premiers using the notwithstanding clause willy nilly to strip Canadians of their charter rights?

I do think that the "It's just like...yep" part of it is the thing that makes me so cynical about the American public.

Like sure maybe they'll do another No Kings protest in six months or whatever and have some witty signs. But they're not really mobilizing and turning outrage into action.
he's knocking down the literal white house and illegally murdering people by dropping bombs on international boats and the government has been shut down for weeks and it's just like....yep

What if I never had to hear anything about John Rustad or this party of assholes ever again?
BREAKING - The BC Conservative party’s management committee has written a letter calling on John Rustad to resign as leader, citing the “unprecedented level of turmoil that has engulfed our party.”

I bought an mp3 player last year and I've been using my Spotify subscription money to pay for stuff on Bandcamp and going back to the old YouTube to mp3 sites for a lot of other stuff. It's great, I haven't even missed Spotify; and unlike my phone, the mp3 player is small enough to use with one hand

seriously cancel your fucking spotify subscription. use literally anything else. even piracy is better for both artists and the world than spotify

Hi @npr.org! We worked late tonight putting together this handy pocket guide!

It doesn't address road design issues, but if we're going to educate road users, we should include drivers.

It's the size of a folded business card. Print it, fold it, put it in your wallet!

BC NDP allowing rent to raise 2.3% next year but only offering BCGEU a 1.5% wage increase is a slap in the face. That's a pay cut.

And our governing party continues to break strikes and block any progress for workers. I'm glad the Air Canada strike went the way it did, but we're going to have to do that a lot more.
