Homan: "I begged for the last two months on TV for the rhetoric to stop. I said in March -- if the rhetoric doesn't stop, there is gonna be bloodshed. And there has been. I wish I wasn't right. I don't want to see anybody die."

From what I'm hearing from folks on the ground, this is exactly correct. This regime does nothing but lie, and they respond to nothing but strength. Dems and other leaders should recognize they're weak now - ignore the propaganda and go on offense.
I'm calling bullshit on the media narrative that Trump is "pivoting" and "deescalating" on his ICE raids. The threshold is this: As long as the military occupations and the treatment of US cities as enemy territory continue, there's no pivot. ICE out. 1/

Donald Trump Is Frightened
Trump wants to appear eager to minimize out-of-control clashes between government militias and protesters. But he doesn’t want to stop the things causing those clashes in the first place.

I am a public servant. My name, job title, and contact information is on a variety of websites documents. That's how it should be. And I'm not even entrusted with a gun!
One thing I see liberal outlets giving ground on that I feel the need to correct: it’s impossible to “dox” a paid public official
By simply reporting their name, institutional role, and political affiliations

Red or Blue, now is the time to email your senator. Tomorrow morning is the time to call their offices.

I don't care if your senator is already on side (give them your courage) or if your senator is wholly useless (give them some of your fear).

Make sure they hear from you.
There is A LOT of misinformation going around about the continued funding of ICE.

It ISN'T a done deal.

Yes, it passed in the House, but the Senate hasn't taken it up yet.

That's the way this shit works.

CONTACT YOUR SENATOR NOW AND TELL THEM TO VOTE THIS FUNDING DOWN.

Really hard to look at this and all the other examples of bravery and kindness from ordinary people in this moment not think also of the tremendous cowardice exhibited over the past year by some of the richest, most well-protected people in business, media and politics

I'm not sure Democrats in D.C. are aware that their base's rage against ICE has reached a level of blinding white-hot intensity.

They're worried about "looking weak" for voting "against law enforcement" when they should be worried a mob of housewives is going to come beat them to death if they do.

Pretti clearly did not brandish his gun. Which means the government is saying he was killed for legally exercising his right to carry.

It’s as clear-cut a violation of the Second Amendment as I can possibly imagine. And we’re about to see the bulk of the gun rights crowd defend his murder.

I'm at an event with people from all across the country. I was casually chatting with a guy while we were waiting to be served at the bar. I asked him where he was from and he said New York. I told him I was from Oakland.

"Oh, so you're corn-fed!" He eagerly replied.

The ICE agent who shot Marimar Martinez in Chicago tried to goad her out of her car.

He said “do something b*tch” and shot her 5 times.

The ICE agent who shot Nicole Renee Good did the same thing. Stood right in front of her vehicle and yelled “f*cking bitch”.

They hate women & it shows.

"Get the principals on camera" is such a telling phrase here, because it tells us that for Weiss there's no world in which the victims of these horrific actions can actually be seen as the subjects of the story: They're background noise, and the people who matter are the ones sending them.
Weiss concluded: “We need to be able to make every effort to get the principals on the record and on camera. To me, our viewers come first, not a listing schedule or anything else. And that is my North Star, and I hope it's the North Star of every person in this newsroom.”

As I sit in my office, working (and skeeting) while the rest of my division is at the holiday party, I have a hot take: Scrooge was right. Who wants to play with a bunch of Dickensian youths when he could be enjoying time to himself?

I participated in an internal beta test of my employer's Gen AI platform. I'm a major AI skeptic but I posed it three questions that felt like they were reasonable use cases. I'm preparing a strongly worded email as a result of those prompts!

This may explain why I encountered a recipe for beef stew that included 1.5lbs of potatoes, yet only 6 teaspoons of liquid, total.
NEW: AI “recipe slop” is overrunning search and social. Food creators say Google’s AI Overviews and glossy fake food pics are drowning out real, tested recipes — collapsing traffic and setting home cooks up for disaster, especially this Thanksgiving.

Something I haven't seen talked about yet: Prop 30 is up ~64 to 36. Harris won CA at ~58 to 38, in 2024. There are some negative things you can infer about the electorate from this, but also: that is a pretty dramatic swing, particularly since it's not like gerrymandering is universally popular.
