Yes, two of my favourite topics combined: cookery and badmouthing Sam Altman.
I forgot about this for a while but the Bryce Elder "Sam Altman's kitchen" piece may be one of my favourite things I've read in business or tech history.

alt text is easy, fun, polite, necessary, &—critically in the age of “govt openly enthusiastic about eugenics & ending accessibility initiatives”—the right thing to do, especially if you’re on bluesky to inform or drive action.

Trump hated TikTok (because China) until it helped him win an election (as even he acknowledges) and now he’s going to save it and take a victory lap. So he’ll have X, TikTok, Insta, and Facebook all working on his behalf. That’s a big difference between now and 2017.

CONFIRMED: Facebook has *banned* anyone from linking to Pixelfed. #MetaBlockingPixelfed

I just tried posting a message on Facebook that reads: "Anyone here using Pixelfed?" with a link to Pixelfed.Social

Within *seconds* I got a post saying my post was banned.
