I don’t do too well with reflections or resolutions. 2025 was a dumpster fire, if we want to hem the fire into a specific period. As did we all, I spent a lot of time managing existential dread and a crushing empathy for the growing number of people marginalized and targeted by the worst among us.

Yes, it’s illegal. Like changing it to Department of War, like ten thousand other things. Part of the Trump strategy is to break the law and convey “the rule of law is weak and feminine and laughable and should be overridden by Our Guy.” Trump is fundamentally anti-law.

One group of people that you do not want to fuck with is restaurant staff. They work long shifts on their feet for shitty pay and have to deal with the rudest people known to humanity multiple times per day. And that’s just front of house. I would fight the Siege of Leningrad with four line cooks
