It's been a year where I've had too many friends lose their wee buddies, and my own is teetering, this made me burst into hot cathartic tears.

A lovely read, a tribute to the bonds that we make with these furry terrorists that deign to share their homes with us.
I've taken the paywall off this eulogy I wrote for my magical, mysterious ex-stray cat George - who died last year - in case anybody would like a read.

It was very, very hard to write but I think it might be my favourite thing I’ve ever written about cats.

Remember this is the last ride of the year. There is no ride in December so bring two month's worth of happy vibes!

Absolutely loved the Resistance exhibition at @nationalgalleries.bsky.social - inspirationally brave, angry, and persistent people who changed the world.

This picture of Rosa May Billinghurst was a favourite, but many great photographs of people fighting for good - incredibly moving.

I've removed the paywall permanently from this piece, which is a chapter from my novel Villager, told entirely in the form of an online village message board. If you like it, you'll probably like the book. If you don't, you won't...

The Village Message Board
Its authenticity was discredited because of his reputation, but also because he was quick with gin at the time and wearing an item of knitwear back to front.

I used to work at a small shop that made little plastic vampires.

There were only 2 of us working there, so I had to make every second count.

Finally very nearly home after seeing Taylor Swift on her Eras Tour. 500 mile round trip. Took us all 438 days to walk back (might have been quicker but Beryl wanted to take a detour to see Hereford Cathedral). We are all very tired, but happy, and wouldn’t have missed it for the world.
