"The game is bringing fresh meat to the table. Anyone can find tenants. It takes a finer touch to procure a feast."

Only 6 days until AGENCY, starring cosmic horror landlords, is released. Here's some handy links if you want to pre-order, while I'm having an ongoing excited/nervous wibble.

There's still time to subscribe to the print version of THE END TIMES. We'll be shutting it down within the next few weeks or so. Digital subscriptions will stay open all year, but if you want print copies, time is running out.

This is not the mainstream recognition genre fiction was looking for. Somewhat suggestive of the recruiter mindset that the biggest award they could think of was the Hugo though, and not the Pulitzer, Booker, and Novel for one thing.

Folks, let's keep talking to our parents and grandparents with love. Especially the ones we disagree with. The pace of cultural change is wild, and accelerating - new things can be scary at first, so bring them along for the ride, share the joy with them.
Gap between young men and young women partly differential pace + intensity of shifting left as much as gender polarisation. As youngest male group is 1/4 right and 1/2 left, so can find representatives of the smaller seghment online + offline, as in all cohorts - but it is narrativised as the norm

ICYDK, publishing is in a decline. Many authors who have had dependable contracts in the past are now scrambling to make ends meet and seeing lower advances and fewer sales than ever. If you see lots of book publicity posts, it's because we're scared and trying to keep our jobs during The Horrors.

Please spread this far and wide, as stories don't get much bigger than this. When the government blocks even the intelligence services from telling us we're heading for environmental catastrophe, you know we have a problem. A very big problem.
Thank you.

The UK government didn't want you to see this report on ecosystem collapse. I'm not surprised | George Monbiot
It took an FOI request to bring this national security assessment to light. For ‘doomsayers’ like us, it is the ultimate vindication, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

So send me your weird little projects, your self-published odd books, your cool scuzzy zines, your quick and dirty games. I wanna see them all. Gimme 👇

'Ismael Gálvez, a prof of economics ... who has studied the impact of migration on Spain’s economy, said ... it was not likely to put a lot of pressure on the housing or labor market for native-born Spaniards.

“Migrants mainly compete with workers who are similar to them, that is, other migrants.”'

The UK version of “Project 2025” by the Reform party includes a British ICE, a concentration camp for 24,000 people, mass surveillance and withdrawing from refugee, anti-torture and anti-trafficking conventions.

It’s on their website. That’s how comfortable fascists are in the UK today.

Interesting. A calmly-expressed, moderate and mature pitch to a centre-right electorate is a bucket-list item for me right now - not because I'd vote for it, but because so many other people would - so fingers crossed this remains as presented.

And there’s the irony: in the attempt to avoid inserting itself into the argument, a news organisation which fails to distinguish empty statements from evidenced ones is doing exactly that.

You cannot, in 2026, report passively and hope to be truthful.
