This should be a clear signal that hospitals and other institutions should not capitulate to the administration’s lawless anti-trans demands.

Foremost, they have obligation to their patients.

The latest loss for DOJ, regarding the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's patients, also brings news that DOJ has started scaling back its requests following its many losses.

As federal agents descend on Chicago for more immigration raids, our analysis shows what happened to ~1,600 people arrested there this fall. We report how federal agencies moved them through an expanded network of detention facilities — many rife with complaints of inhumane conditions.

Abuse is so omnipresent a lot of core reactionary lobbies fight for the right to abuse, from "parents rights" to anyone who wants to "bring back traditional masculinity" and so many others.

It's so saturated and omnipresent many people have subconsciously come to see it as the null hypothesis.
America is a culture of child abuse. Ask any survivor - we find one another, we form networks and communities.

The true scale of it would stagger and sicken you, and so it is buried, it is swept under the rug, it is denied and the survivors are silenced by whatever means are necessary.

Every adoption reveals so many politics. I’ve grown to apply the idea of abolition (of slavery) to prisons & policing, ie: I stopped asking how prison & police could be improved, but ask how conditions of societies can change so that they’re unnecessary.

Abolition can be applied to adoption, too.
Every defense of intercountry #adoption into the USA is a defense of what the other sending country *will* eventually call a “shameful chapter in our history.” Bank on that.
