Yea I thought about it those rich people wanted their republican tax breaks and the shut down was actually beginning to inconvenience them just doing whatever they want.
And now we know why the shutdown is ending.
The Federal Aviation Administration will limit business jets and other private flights to some of the country’s largest airports to ease strains on air-traffic personnel.

Common sense. Which the U.S. lacks.
Did you know that in Canada, if a budget doesn’t pass the government doesn’t shut down?
Federal workers aren’t furloughed.
Funding for social services doesn’t dry up.
Failure to pass a budget triggers an election.
It puts the politicians jobs on the line.
They get the budget passed.

Also, the nerve of that fucking guy, because what job is ever "just handing someone a coffee" as if every job doesn't have 46 other things they didn't tell you you'd have to do but now expect you to do if you want your check

Yesterday I came to a red light, the guy behind me sped into the parking lot and went into the adjoining street so he could turn right and sped off.
I passed him at the very next red light where he had no choice but to wait to make a left turn. Did all that dangerous stunt shit for nothing 😂

Stop driving like you're auditioning for Fast & Furious. We all got places to be, and we'd like to get there in one piece

Quite a headline.
Europeans recognize Zohran Mamdani’s supposedly radical policies as ‘normal’
Critics of New York City’s mayor-elect have said his pledges of free bus service and universal childcare are unrealistic, but in Europe it’s a given

And if we're being real that would probably get us all stretching and exercising more so we're not so achy when we get older 😭

Don't undersell capitalism. A quick google search suggests a Starbucks can service 800 people per day.
5 day work week is 4,000 people.
If you're working 40 hrs a week that's 100 people per hour. On top of cleaning, register duties, and lord knows what other work outside the job description

You got to be kidding.
How much do you want to get paid for handing somebody a coffee?

While US venture capitalists were buying monkey jpegs, and DOGE coins, and figuring out how to get Black women fired, and tweeting about white birthrates, and trying to mandate which bathroom trans kids should use, China was making progress on climate change and taking the lead in a real industry.
China has made cheap, clean energy available in huge quantities. The world should take the win econ.st/4oqFszB

A Virginia gubernatorial candidate campaigned against solar power because she believed it would stop working when the sun went down. 1.4 million people voted for her.
Australia has so much electricity from solar power that it is going to start offering free electricity to everyone for at least three hours during the day as the wholesale price of power goes negative

All those desert states in the middle of the country could be used the same way but we're still burning fossil fuel to power our 1950s ass grid. Smh
