Which I mean of course SCOTUS wasn't going to overturn; the last thing they need is individual government employees saying "I don't feel like it" to their assigned duties and still somehow keep their jobs.

None of the seven Democrats & 1 Independent who voted to end the shutdown will be up for reelection in 2026. So, they felt very comfortable siding with the GOP.
