Today the Supreme Court granted review in an important case for the outcome of the 2026 elections. At stake is the fate of tens or even hundreds of thousands of mail-in ballots. No one is covering this as completely as Democracy Docket. Please support its work by subscribing today. hubs.ly/Q03M8rql0

Less than a week after bludgeoning Republicans at the ballot box across the country, Chuck Schumer just gave up his leverage to reopen the government based on a “promise” to vote on ACA subsidies.

None of them up for reelection in 2026; only in '28 or '30, or retiring.
And that was not an accident: it was coordinated - to allow those up next year to vote No.

Which means the reach of the disgusting behavior goes beyond those 8 voting Yes.

Trump is only focused on leading a government that puts money in his and his billionaire donors' pockets.

As Americans struggle with higher costs across the board, he's asking SCOTUS to freeze full SNAP benefits again.

Does it get more cruel than this?

Which I mean of course SCOTUS wasn't going to overturn; the last thing they need is individual government employees saying "I don't feel like it" to their assigned duties and still somehow keep their jobs.

The best part about SCOTUS refusing to overturn Gay marriage is that Kim Davis now needs to pay THREE HUNDRED SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS in fines for refusing to issue marriage licenses. 😂😂🏳️‍🌈💪

Looks like the strategy worked! A federal appeals court late Sunday rejected yet another attempt by the Trump administration to block full federal funding for food stamps. The decision may not take effect until late Tuesday, following guidance previously issued by the Supreme Court.

Even if the GOP allow a vote on the ACA & it survives, it will NEVER look the same, cover the same amount of people or medications.

None of the seven Democrats & 1 Independent who voted to end the shutdown will be up for reelection in 2026. So, they felt very comfortable siding with the GOP.

What money? His own? Because only Congress can choose how to spend fed funds.
The President wouldn't last five minutes as an air traffic controller, and after everything they've been through - and the way this administration has treated them from Day One - he has no business shitting on them now.

I just love how the senators said they'd stand together to block any deal that didn't protect the ACA, then they don't.
