As many have pointed out, Mamdani didn't stand apart from our trans brothers and sisters. He didn't play the "Gee, gosh, it sure is complicated," milquetoast moderate card. And he crushed.

The way forward is together, not over the bodies of our own.

No fucking words for how angry I am at the vile little twerp (and the entire Coalition, and the backwards demographics that put them in charge) destroying our education system like this.

I am consistently baffled by people who claim to be anti-fascist but they use AI avatars or banner art.

Generative AI is a fascist tool. Period. Look at who's paying for it. Look at who's pushing it. Look at what they want you to use it for. It is anti-human.

Do fucking better.

Said this on a podcast recently but it bears repeating here - if you’re feeling like AI makes going into a creative field pointless, don’t lose sight of the fact that creating things has value. That’s why they want in on it so bad.

Don’t let some technocrat’s wet dream put out your fire.

The thing with AI and the enshittification of the web is that there are still tons of reliable digital information resources out there, it’s indexed, people share it. You don’t have to use chatbots to get info. You don’t have to use short form video to parasocially get your political news, etc.

Neon NZ: "Your home for HBO MAX in NZ!

Except for that particular HBO show you like, we don't license it anymore.

And that movie you want to see that's on HBO MAX? No, you can't watch it with your subscription yet because we'd like to milk a few more weeks of rentals from our captive audience."

1/ A longtime Wired editor just wrote a mush-brained essay about how he totally missed the political rot of Silicon Valley (& still doesn't get it).

But in the late 1990s, a Wired journalist warned of a toxic ideology bubbling up from tech. Paulina Borsook has largely been erased. Let's change that

Resolve your storylines, show writers.

At least some of them. Please.

Especially in today's world where it is years between seasons, if a promised future season even happens at all, it is the least you can do for your audience.

Regardless of whether Lee would have approved, it should be illegal for an estate to authorize a ghouLLM of someone who died before they had a chance to say "fuck no"

cancelling Disney+ and Hulu is well and good but it’s not a huge hit on an individual level

but Disney adults? people who spend real money at the parks? you guys can make a dent, call ‘em up and tell them your vacation is postponed until they pull their heads out of their asses
Heard from a friend at Disney+ that there are multiple levels of freakout internally, both from internal dissatisfaction, concerns about subscription cancelations, and of course the big one: concern about a boycott spilling over into parks and cruises.
