The two most prominent politicians in America who compared Trump to Hitler are not Democrats but members of his own administration: Vice President Vance and HHS Secretary Kennedy.

Let's say it again:

1) Harvard said "No," and Trump has backed off.

2) Chicago (and Illinois) said "No," and Trump has backed off.

It's day by day. But those who said "OK, sure," have gained nothing at all. Except shame.
(CNN) - President Donald Trump shelved his plans to target Chicago as the next city for his domestic crime push after advisers warned him that sending in troops .. could create legal headaches they want to avoid, sources familiar with the matter told CNN.

Yeah, if you're in the media and someone insists that "they" were celebrating his murder and therefore "they" have to suffer some sort of retribution, you have an obligation to ask who "they" are and what, specifically, they did to celebrate this.

You can't just let them throw that gas on the fire.
Keep seeing/hearing news reports of MAGA fury at people celebrating Kirk’s killing (just now, NPR cited Stephen Miller’s outrage about this). But I have yet to see/hear a single example reported of such “celebration” —nothing close to Kirk’s own vile celebration of Paul Pelosi’s hammer attacker.

No matter how much I downgrade my opinion of US institutions, they somehow are always worse than I expect.
Top *eight* articles on NYT devoted to Charlie Kirk, top one asks if he will be remembered like MLK. This is a man who only a tiny percent of Americans had even heard of before his death, whose views are too nasty for NYT to detail. But they are trying so hard to turn into martyr.

I plan to post this ABC News supercut video of Trump calling Harris and Democrats "fascists" (and "communists"!) everytime I see a Republican on TV whining about Trump being called a "fascist" by the left.

Oh, the hypocrisy! Oh, the gaslighting!

Figure it out, folks. They’re outraged because it WASN’T a left-wing radical. Enraged because he came from a gun worshiping family of Trumpers, and he was apparently engaged in an ugly online world that trivializes violence. Stay calm, but remain attentive. Offline is the true reality. Get outside!

My most surreal teaching experience years ago was mentioning Gamergate to a student who didn’t think anyone could argue about video games and immediately having a random Gamergater who was walking past the room come in and start ranting about female game journalists pretending to be victims.
As a colleague mentioned yesterday, Gamergate is one of the five most significant developments in US politics since the Cold War

This is unhinged, dangerous, and reckless. At this point I don't know how you conclude anything other than that Musk is trying to foment pogroms against immigrants across the west.
Elon Musk spoke by video to Tommy Robinson's anti-immigrant rally in the UK today.

"You're in a fundamental situation here where, whether you choose violence or not, violence is coming to you," said Musk. "You either fight back or you die."

A sneering midwit with inherited wealth got the facts wrong, and accused an honest public servant—Lisa Cook—of fraud. His meddling created a crisis well beyond his portfolio, undermining the Fed.

Bill Pulte can do the right thing and resign.

If merit still matters, he should be fired.
