If the Globe article is accurate re: CAF plans for US invasion, I think conscription (as it worked previously) would be useless. The better option imo would be a creation/promotion of hyper-local gun clubs (weapon training) or national service (basic medical training/engineering)
I would be very interested to see a poll of Canadians and their views on conscription. Not that the CAF is remotely close to being able to manage something like that, but just..even in the abstract...does "elbows up" extend to compulsory national service?
