This position is fundamentally segregationist—civilization is "erased" by the presence of people who do not share the ethnic background of the present majority—something ironically at odds with the history of Europe, which has been profoundly shaped by migration bsky.app/profile/matt...
All this hate for migrants when nothing transforms a culture more than capital. No amount of immigrants will ever change America, the capitol of capital, more than America transforms immigrants into American businesspeople, citizens of money.

The Max Headroom Christmas Special must be seen to be believed.

My favorite part is in the beginning where each of the guest stars’ names look like they’re flying out of the turkey’s asshole.

i strongly, strongly believe that good writing is downstream of clear thinking and a strong understanding of the subject matter at hand. without fail, tortured writing comes from writers who don’t know and can’t think clearly about anything.
Oh man! This paragraph is brutal. The best thing about this review is it's not trying to be mean. It's just listing how bad the writing is.

You read this quote and think "what on earth" and then you read "student theatre group" and go ahhhh
"When a doctor told me I’d come close to dying, and that the play had to stop using real knives, I remember thinking: “You just don’t understand theatre.”"
Experience: I was stabbed in the back with a real knife while performing Julius Caesar

Heated Rivalry is coming out soon and it's a weird tv show in that it's a gay romance that isn't trauma based

Oh and hockey
I think if Canada wants to have a strong cultural identity we need to go back to doing what we're best at, making the weirdest fucking TV shows you've ever seen

people always stereotype Canadians as being polite, and its not true at all. We are passive-agressive weirdos who live in isolated weird places and the sooner we make peace with that the better

You can't deconsecrate a host; extras are usually preserved in a tabernacle, given out, or consumed by the priest and maybe some helpers
* You can buy bags of deconsecrated scraps of communion wafers--like, the bits left over and NOT used for religious purposes. They're packaged and sold as snacks. They're especially popular in Quebec.

Mostly I hope they use it to clean up the loose ends from the other 3 series
I'm very happy about this.
But I really hope they don't try to make it prestige.

Give us 20 ep seasons of mostly stand-alone sci-fi stories with charming but not blockbuster production values.

The CW was still crushing that model as of a few years ago, it's doable, and it's where Stargate belongs.
