Eno diary, 18 Nov 95: "Sorting out CDs. I have so many, no idea where most came from. It’s so easy to make ‘sonic landscapes’ now..millions of people at it. A whole technology exists for it..by the time a whole technology exists for something it probably isn’t the most interesting thing to be doing.

I cannot tell you how many tech journalists at prominent media organizations do not understand this
Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

thrilling new release from @buriedtreasure.bsky.social - the OST of THE SHOUT, after all these years. I've contributed a short essay to the sleevenotes, as a professional film listener. Can't wait to set this on the turntable. Don't forget to put wax in your ears!
7 years on this one. There's been several challenges along the way but its finally come together. The cut is amazing. The sleeve notes are fascinating. Out December. Reviewers, commissioning editors, bloggers, etc. please get in touch.

And then it's resolved and everyone kind of forgets about it til the next time.

And the next time, their fridge stops working because of it.
