Just saw Cactus Flower (free on Tubi through 12/31) and boy was it great! Wonderful example of late 60s comedies based on plays. A farce of a love triangle, square, all the way up to heptagon. Walter Matthau’s the best jerk ever as always. At 54, Ingrid Bergman is still glorious. And Goldie Hawn!

People are saying Wow, Jesus got holes in his hands once and was the messiah. If someone kept getting holes in their hands they’d be even better. You hear it all the time. More hand holes, better messiah. 2 holes, weak on Crime. I just passed 450 hand holes. Rob Reiner was a loser and is in Hell.

There needs to be a word for completely non-sexual porno, bc that’s what furniture restoration videos are. They light up all the synapses and delight the senses, but out of wholesomeness and admiration, not horniness
i love furniture restoration videos because they show how quality is important and you can get some really beautiful, overlooked furniture if you learn certain skills

Fascinating research that also passed the smell test from me and other AuDHD folks in the comments. I’ll need to read it a couple more times to properly digest it, but the TLDR is that ritalin and adderall don’t increase attention so much as they simulate motivation. SIMulate, not stimulate

My daughter asked for records for Christmas, and while I was there I got some other rad records for me. Here are two compilations. One is psych rock from all over Europe, Africa, and Asia. The other is a highlife compilation from Ghana. I’m really enjoying both, especially the highlife one!

Christmas afternoon is probably my slowest time of the year. I generally go go go go go until my body or brain gives out, so I don’t rest so much as recover. But today we’re taking time sipping coffee and listening to Black Messiah by D’Angelo (RIP), one of the absolute best albums of my lifetime 😌
