An expert (? haven't actually worked in the field for a while but grad school never leaves you) in weird niche embedded GPS applications, currently teaching physics, always sipping coffee, riding bikes, wearing cardigan sweaters. (they/them)
Does anyone else go through absolutely everything in life waiting for it to be suddenly and dramatically revealed that you're wrong and actually a bad person or is that just me?

The best salad dressing is just vinegar and olive oil in one of those little glass bottles that somehow mystify people so much they keep posting them on r/whatisthisthing.
Time for salad dressing hot takes. Post 'em.

Cecilia is part southern farm dog but here she is asking to go outside again to see if her favorite bathroom spots are clear yet (they definitely aren't).

I maintain that it's not a bad movie, just not a good one, but Ladyhawke. Alan Parsons worked on it and it's soundtrack and it's got major Project vibes.
Name a bad movie with a good soundtrack.

On a cop's very first day of training they are taught "warrior mindset," that all civilians are potentially lethal threats to be subdued.

They're told horror stories and shown gore porn of what these lethal civilians will do to them if they let their guard down.

We are explicitly mentioning ICE’s murder in cold blood of a man on the streets of Minneapolis this morning

Sometimes you just need to read The Quarterly Report In Yellow.
As a longtime player of Call of Cthulhu and other cosmic horror games, it never fails to weird me out when the term “sanity check” is used in a business setting.

I mean, business is definitely its own cosmic horror, but it always causes an out of context error in my head.

I'm sort of in love with the accent of the lead singer from the German prog rock band Eloy. It sounds so mismatched with the entire rest of the band's vibe.

I'm trying to explain to her that I also want a four mile walk today but that I can't do anything about the snow storm, record low temperatures, and road salt shortages in a city with an actual salt mine.

I desperately need to hear someone describe something that happened today that isn't an IRL horror story.

I'll go first: it was warmer than freezing today so I went for a longer but still not long walk with the dog and listened to a new (to me) Alan Parsons Project record while I had my coffee.

has anyone written up (reliably. I can't find reliably) something about how weather forecasting is not as good now? And is it related to Trump admin stuff? Or am I just seeing it different now because of all the everything?
