They have poured tens of millions, if not more, into a decade-long war on the rights of trans people to exist and 86% still don't agree with them
Striking numbers which demonstrate, in spades, how tiny is the popular support for the culture of hate that Britain's institutions seem determined to impose on a kind and accepting majority.

(Expect the BBC to ignore it or qualify it to oblivion.)

Have seen two pretty obese dogs this week. Can't understand owners that do that to their pets.

They're actually doing an 'ah fuck it anyways now.

Don't know how anyone with kids isn't out on the streets.
🇮🇪 will do spectacularly badly with impacts from Climate Change.

We think short term.

2 of many: Still building on flood plains; 83% of our fruit & veg is imported.

No real adaptation & mitigation plans for increasingly serious ☔️ events.

Not to mention AMOC. 😬

In November, the Climate Advisory Council warned that many climate adaptation projects, including for flooding, were not being funded.

Important to remember as the Govnt, and EU, prepare to invest billions on military capabilities.

Congressman Chris Smith has a long track record on Irish affairs, so it makes sense that Peadar Tóibín would meet him even though he's not in the Congressional Friends of Ireland

notwithstanding all that: it's pretty wild that Peadar Tóibín met with Chris Smith, co-chair of the Israel Allies Caucus

My friend, carer and disability activist @bernardmulvany.bsky.social is fed up of carers and people with disabilities being left behind by this government.

We need to understand that these toxic algorithms are also being used on the rest of us and you only have to look at X to see the result.

Excluding kids from our digital town square is not the answer.
Sitting across the Oireachtas Children's Committee on online safety for children.

Very much getting the impression that a lot of politicians are reaching for the Under-16 ban. Momentum behind that rather than a deeper understanding of platforms, algorithms and any alternative view.

Shameful.

The government has voted against a proposal to make an emergency winter payment to disabled people.

The government took €1,400 off disabled people in the budget and is now refusing to give them €400.

A government for the rich, not the rest.

Recently saw a post on Insta making a compelling argument for not feeding birds.
1. Feeders are vectors for the spread of disease.
2. The environmental.impacts of the feed production and transpott
3. It advantages the species that can access feeders over others.

There are better options to help.

And Faughnan's dig...
This week on The Explainer, we're focusing on scramblers and e-scooters. What are the current rules, and what more can be done to enforce these regulations?
