This is rich. Connie Chan says she “built real affordable housing, not the Sacramento version that destroys our neighborhoods.”

She points to new affordable housing on Geary: housing that she didn’t build but that *was* built using “Sacramento version” housing laws & $52M in state funds. 🧵

Successfully convinced a dozen coworkers in Orange County to take Metrolink to an event instead of Ubers and it was not only cheaper, but we beat everyone who took an Uber instead because of SoCal traffic. Love when transit works out perfectly, especially when I'm introducing it to others.

The City of Emeryville is gathering feedback from tenants, property owners, and property managers about evictions and tenant protections.

Take our short survey by December 8, 2025, and help us improve housing policies in our community.

If our little town of 14k can do it, what’s your city’s excuse?
I do love that everyone is freaking out about Mamdani and free busses and people talking about raising minimum wage, but I literally lived in Emeryville city in California for eight years total that has free busses AND inflation tied minimum wage since 2007 and it was fine.

“I think my community should welcome outsiders and newcomers seeking a better life” and “I think we should only build new housing for the kind of people who actually deserve it” are fundamentally incompatible beliefs.

A few days after the presidential election one year ago, we went to Fordham Road in the Bronx.

It was a little different last week.

Maxwell Park is now East Oakland's first neighborhood to become Moderate Resource. Oh, Longfellow & west Bushrod moved from Low to Moderate Resource, I think, meaning it's no longer exempt from SB 79.

New Bay Wheels dock in front of Huchiun Park and The Emery. Love the increased park access and the convenient location for the hundreds of new residents in my neighborhood!

🎃👻 Today, the kids from ECDC stopped by City Hall for some trick-or-treating fun! It was such a joy seeing all the costumes and smiles. Huge shoutout to ECDC for organizing this wonderful event and to our Police Department for the safe escort! 🍬🧡

Yearly reminder that Halloween is the deadliest day of the year for children. If you have the choice not to drive or are on the fence about taking transit, there is no better day than tomorrow.

Oakland DOT recently kicked off a suite of low-cost, quick-build bike/walk spot treatments around town to close bikeway gaps, upgrade intersection treatments, & add physical separation to curbside bike lanes.

This week I shipped The Outer Worlds 2 with Obsidian Entertainment, a game I've been working on for almost 3 years. The response has been overwhelming.

Every developer got to have a "Tossball" card placed somewhere in the game, it's surreal to see a YouTube guide on how to collect yourself.

Came back from the amazing Life After Cars show in SF to have both Emeryville bound busses leave simultaneously before I could exit the station. Both of them have 30 minute frequencies so it was quite painful. Thankfully Bay Wheels saved the day, but it was a little ironic to say the least.

It’s official: I’m running for Congress to represent San Francisco!

I’ll fight for our city – against Trump’s takeover, for our values, & for real progress. I’ve delivered on housing, healthcare, clean energy, & civil rights – & I’ll do it again.

Let’s build the future our city & country deserve.
