Since I’m running low on copies of UP, it will only be available in the online shop through the end of the year. It won’t be reprinted, and any copies remaining after Jan 1 will be reserved for future shows. Order soon if you want one!

Virtually our entire leadership caste across multiple segments of society simultaneously tore their masks off to reveal black holes where humans should be. It's quite something!

Sure, they've made an environmentally catastrophic mass hallucination disinformation plagiarism Clippy that will destabilize the world, but also their other goal is to replace human workers entirely and let us humans starve. A boycott of AI is the most important boycott of your entire life.
"All of this falls apart if humans don't adopt the tech. This is why you've seen Meta cram its lame chatbots into WhatsApp and Instagram. This is why Notepad and Paint now have useless Copilot buttons on Windows. This is why Google Gemini wants to "help you" read and reply to your emails."
Analysis: OpenAI is a loss-making machine, how can it survive?
Don't call it a bubble! Loss-making monster OpenAI is on the hook for $1.4 trillion (with a T) in compute commitments. How can this go on?

Librarians told 404 Media they're being inundated with new pitches for AI library tech and catalogs are being flooded with AI slop books.

But more broadly, AI maximalism across society is supercharging the ideological war on libraries, schools, government workers, and academics.
AI Is Supercharging the War on Libraries, Education, and Human Knowledge
"Fascism and AI, whether or not they have the same goals, they sure are working to accelerate one another."

Hi. I wrote an essay about AI slop: How it feels like an invasive species for the internet. How its boosters describe building a future that’s devoid of craft. How frictionlessness can be nihilistic & how this stuff seems to leach part of our shared humanity out of the world. I hope you'll read it.

Scream/Taste of Fear is a masterpiece! Is it the best of Hammer’s ‘mini-Hitchcocks’? I’m also partial to Paranoiac for Oliver Reed’s unhinged performance, but it’s definitely between those two.
Halloween got you hungry for Hammer? Then come and have a Taste of Fear.

This totally twisted thriller stars Susan Strasberg and Christopher Lee in the tale of an heiress plagued by terrifying visions!

"The best film Hammer ever made." - Christopher Lee
