Today the NYT story is framed with "Trump Calls Affordability a ‘Con Job." Followed by "President Trump is growing frustrated." There are facts about the economy. Who cares what trump says about affordability? That NYT thinks we should know that Trump is frustrated is lousy journalism.

Trump embraced Zohran Mamdani even after Mamdani called him a fascist. Why? Because Mamdani understands Trump only respects strength—and strength means taking away the voters who fuel his power. ICYMI @saletan.bsky.social breaks down the strategy: lnk.thebulwark.com/4iALUlB
What Mamdani Gets About Trump
When New York’s mayor-elect met with the authoritarian president, he didn’t waste time with denunciations. But he didn’t exactly hold back.

I could see Trump being a bridging figure between russian mob and the cartel. That makes a lot of sense.
I got to thinking: "What if it's not about the contradiction between the Hernandez pardon and the air strikes, but about the consistency between them?"

As President of Honduras, he used the power of the government to go after certain cartels—primarily the rivals of the Sinaloa Cartel, with whom he

Revelations about RW social media accounts being run from Russia correspond perfectly to data already revealed by the Panama, Paradise & Pandora Papers: Russian money streamed thru offshore accounts funds virtually all right-wing "populist" parties in EU & NAmerica. Same goal: undermine democracy.
This is one of the big accounts boosting Tommy Robinson, Farage and Reform and ‘English Patriots’.

It’s Russian.

ALL the far-right parties in Europe are Russian-funded, using offshore accounts in order to dodge campaign finance laws: this came out in the Panama Papers of 2016, the Paradise Papers of 2017 & the Pandora Papers of 2020.

Putin pays grifters to rabble rouse & undermine democracy abroad.

“Abolish ICE” is a trickier thing, both politically and logistically.

But a Congress sworn in on Jan 1, 2028 could have a Day One bill sitting on a Dem POTUS’s desk that dissolves DHS and moves everything around to departments w more civilian-like control.

Exactly this. The best case is so bad it’s absolutely criminal.
Best case: The President of the United States knew about a pedophilia ring and did nothing to stop it.

Medium case: He also used his office to protect the perpetrators.

Worst case: Because he was one of the perpetrators.

Important to understand the Epstein stuff and the fascism and the corruption are, in a lot of ways, really all the same story from different angles: powerful men who can and do abuse vulnerable people around them because they can, and because systems of elite accountability catastrophically failed

Our leading news organizations turned a cache of ultimately-innocuous emails into a scandal-coded weeklong series of front page stories leading into the 2016 election. If they do not cover the "emails from notorious pedophile implication the President" emails with the same fervor, it's curious!

Also, DHS is nothing but a 20-yr old org chart.

It’s not a “thing” that has to exist: it was just a post-9/11 reorg of agencies that had been elsewhere, brought under one over-militarized leadership.

We could abolish DHS tomorrow and relocate all its pieces to less military agencies.

The factional grifters will hate this, but the Mamdani-Spanberger-Sherrill axis actually suggests the outlines of a broad, emerging Dem coalition organized around both anti-Trump *and* affordability politics, not a party bitterly divided against itself.
These big wins will embolden Dems to take on Trump's lawbreaking and show there's a price for GOP enabling of him. Folks hate to hear this, but normal patterns are asserting themselves: Liberalism isn't dead, Rs are likely to lose in 2026, and Trump is really unpopular, not a magical exception.

The IRA *was* cheap energy and good jobs! That was the whole bill! Democrats did precisely what political pundits are telling them to do and the pundits just ignore it.
