Can't wait for the loosened up, non-perfect, but quickly shipped AI-enhanced updates to hit my banking and insurance services next year.

Im sure there will be no issues there at all.
software development in 2026 is going to require some to loosen up a little code doesn't have to be as perfectly crafted the way we did it pre-ai call it slop if you want, but if you're still demanding perfection on every pr while your competitors are shipping "slop" that works.. you're fighting from a disadvantaged position shipping velocity matters more than perfection

no, they won't, any more than tires can help you fly. They're not built for that. They're a fundamentally different technology. An LLM does not exist to model conscious thought, it exists to take advantage of your willingness to see faces in things that aren't there.

Crossbills love spruce and pine seeds. In the winter, when the trees are loaded with cones, flocks of crossbills will sometimes arrive in our area.
This male White-winged Crossbill has plucked a spruce cone and is very focused on getting out all the seeds!

A male white-winged crossbill extracts the seeds from a spruce cone. He is mostly red with a bit of brown. He has plucked the cone from the tree and taken it to a more stable branch where he holds it vertically so he can get at the seeds with his unique crossed bill. The branch is covered in thick white frost and there are a few snowflakes in the air.
