Snippet from ‘The City is my Religion’ print from a portfolio project of the same name, 2020. It’s a church of sorts, made up of local buildings with colors to mimic stained glass. Considering a reprint. #letterpress

#BirdOfTheDay #MostRecent

Taken yesterday: a very round and fluffy Black-capped Chickadee. They are curious, social, and adaptable little guys, extremely well suited to lasting through the most punishing Canadian winter

Im sure there will be no issues there at all.

no, they won't, any more than tires can help you fly. They're not built for that. They're a fundamentally different technology. An LLM does not exist to model conscious thought, it exists to take advantage of your willingness to see faces in things that aren't there.

We conclude with a Northern Flicker (red-shafted subspecies), getting all festive for the day even though I took the photo in April

And Tiny Tim, who did not die, had the time of his life, no, he never felt like this before, yes I swear, it's the truth, and he owes it all to Scrooge
And Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, where the shadows lie, One Tim to rule them all, One Tim to find them, One Tim to bring them all, and in the darkness, bind them.
And Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, blew up the Death Star.

My beloved AP European History teacher always said that modern centuries only truly "begin" 14 to 18 years after the technical turn of the calendar:

1517 (Luther's Theses)
1618 (Defenestration of Prague)
1714 (Peace of Utrecht)
1815 (Napoleon defeated)
1914 (WWI begins)

and

2016 (Trump wins)

Crossbills love spruce and pine seeds. In the winter, when the trees are loaded with cones, flocks of crossbills will sometimes arrive in our area.
This male White-winged Crossbill has plucked a spruce cone and is very focused on getting out all the seeds!

A beautiful Savannah Sparrow letting me get quite close! They're usually fairly shy so this was a rare treat. I love their elegant, contrasy outfits with a little pop of colour above the eyes
