DHS and ICE ignore court orders, moving immigrants across state lines to concentration camps where they are tortured. The immigrants are entitled to hearings on their detention, but the regime just disappears them to Texas, *after* being ordered not to by a judge. The business end of fascism.
I don’t really know what I expect in posting this, but maybe some people see it and can learn from it.

I’ll call it “lessons from an unwilling immigration attorney.”

“To prolong the burning time, powders of aluminium, magnesium and titanium are added to the chemical mixture,” Fatigarov said. “This raises the temperature of the explosion to between 2,500 and 3,000 degrees Celsius [4,532F to 5,432F].”

This is a special technological evil, made in the U.S.A.

So the Republicans have hitched themselves to a demented king and operational Nazis who are building concentration camps. Does the whole party expect to never leave power? Are they really all in? All the way to cancelled elections and massacres? Is there no one to say “no further?”

Rapid response and mutual aid are two sides of the same coin. One is the front line, the other is civil defense.

(She means “prelude.”)
long-term, i think the mass mobilization and mutual aid ppl are building here should terrify republicans and establishment dems alike. creating a dual-power mechanism like this in a time of mass instability can preclude something much bigger than a midterm vote, especially when you're not doing shit

The ICE killings in Minneapolis evoke Selma but the day-to-day tactics in Minneapolis remind me of the Birmingham Bus Boycott: a grinding, continuous, citywide and logistically demanding effort of non-cooperation over months to break an unjust status quo.
A manager for the Immigrant Defense Network told MPR News that back in November, 2,500 people were trained as constitutional observers. Now, the total is nearly 30,000 trained observers in 77 of Minnesota's 87 counties.

Heroic mutual-aid is hampered by the fear of government cruelty. People won’t open their doors to accept free, warm food.

Prosecute ICE!

Interesting and useful historical perspective.
New at The Watch:

I dug into archival witness accounts of the British siege of Boston prior to the American Revolution.

They are remarkably similar to what we're seeing in Minneapolis.

This is important because it’s the first sign of Republicans in Congress moving to exercise their powers of oversight. Maybe there is some respect for law remaining in some Republicans, amidst the rancid MAGA crowd of sycophants.

They've declared war. No matter how unaccustomed we are to this, nor how unprepared, we're going to need to rise to meet it. Fucking sad, tragic, and unnecessary, and not what we would choose, but nevertheless they're coming.
The WH is clearly looking for a place to escalate this into a two-sided conflict. What Democratic leaders need to understand is that if the enemy is determined to start a war, it is unavoidable. Prepare to fight or be oppressed. You can't get out of it just because you don't want it to happen.

The Squadristi (“Blackshirts”) were created in 1919 by Benito Mussolini as a paramilitary wing of his Fascist movement. Their uniform featured black shirts, which gave the group its name. The black shirts did the following:
