“Researchers from Johns Hopkins, Georgetown and Yale universities recently found that 60 FDA-authorized medical devices using AI were linked to 182 product recalls, according to a research letter published in the JAMA Health Forum in August.”

Don't believe that AI will necessarily improve medical surgery and decisions. #Wachter didn't do his homework. I use genAI almost daily, and AI hallucinations are ever-present.
Terrifying for patients and families

Are people sicker now than in 2019?

Civil servants in England are.
Sickness absence rates have *risen by between 12% to 23% across the age groups*.

Are things getting worse?
It certainly looks like it.

This is exactly what we predicted repeat covid infection would do.

An indoor Superbowl party with about 15 people. I wore my N95 and ate outside. 5 HEPAs on low. >=2 sick. Heard a neighbor child coughing. Opening a window might have helped lower the CO2.

ICE has now spent over half a BILLION dollars just on purchasing warehouses around the country to convert into detention camps.

If these mega-camps are utilized to the full capacity ICE intends, they'll be the largest prisons in the country, with little real oversight. www.ajc.com/politics/202...

1/6 I just delivered my baby in the hospital and was saddened to hear from the staff that routine vitamin K shots for babies are being rejected by parents more frequently now due to the information, without scientific basis or research evidence, being spread by the current administration. 🧪🧬👩‍🔬🍎🥽⚛️

In 2023 @enirenberg.bsky.social & I wrote about RFK Jr's role in the deadly measles outbreak in Samoa (time.com/6289037/robe...)

Turns out, Samoa was a trial run for the horrific, deadly anti-vaxx activism he's now inflicting worlwide 😔

Thx to @bymichellersmith.com & colleagues for their reporting
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said that his trip to Samoa in 2019 ahead of a deadly measles outbreak had “nothing to do with vaccines.”

But records obtained by @theguardian.com + @apnews.com — stemming from a FOIA lawsuit filed by @rcfp.org attorneys on the outlets' behalf — tell a different story.

Kennedy later said the purpose of his trip had nothing to do with vaccines. US embassy and UN staff at the time said otherwise, emails show

The number of people currently in ICE custody is now over 73,000, the most in history.

Your reminder that ICE is a for-profit industry and the companies profiting are huge donors to the politicians who voted to continue funding ICE.

📢📢📢 BREAKING 📢📢📢
Surprising nobody, newly uncovered emails show RFK Jr lied under oath about the real reason for his 2019 Samoa trip: spreading anti-vax disinformation.

Reminder: 83 people, mostly kids under 5, died of measles during the Samoa outbreak.

On Earth, avalanches are terrifying. On the Sun, they are simply overwhelming.

ESA's Solar Orbiter captured this magnetic avalanche on the Sun as it triggered a major solar flare. There's an outline of the Earth at the beginning for scale.

Today's journey carries you to the Skull Nebula.

This eerie object formed when a Sun-like star expelled its outer layers in its old age, leaving behind its naked core — a white dwarf — one of two stars that can be seen at its very centre.
