We’re about two weeks away from when you’re likely going to be traveling for the holidays.

Now is a great time to get this year’s Covid booster and order an n95 mask to wear on the plane.

If you get sick, test for Covid and if it’s positive, stay home!

Was impressed that a local massage business had a Levoit air purifier in every room. Wore an N95 regardless. Forgot to bring my Aranet4.

Also a library's CO2 was at 700 ppm max for 5 hours. That's really good.

Another study that confirms what a scientist told me years ago. It may take 1-2 years for the immune system to recover after a Covid infection. Study shows results at 18 month mark. Folks are not recovered. Omicron variant. 40k in cohort. @inkblue01.bsky.social

Fewer than 50 slots left in this Long Covid trial (down from 1000!)

They’re especially hoping to enroll folks from North Dakota, Mississippi and Puerto Rico, as well as more BIPOC participants.

It’s rising to the north of Germany as well.

Our media says Covid is “holding steady in line with previous weeks”, but the wastewater graph shows an increase of 46% over the previous week — which is considered a “steep increase”.

Naturally no one is looking at said graph. 🤷
In Germany, #Covid is rising steeply. Based on wastewater analysis & hospitalisations, this statistician calculates an 'r' of 1.15 (= cases double every 20 days). One in 103 people now infected. No, there's of course nothing in the news, & all flu infections come on top of these numbers.

I’ve added an Excess Deaths Comparison page to my analysis on that topic. Here I’m comparing the UK, Sweden, Australia and New Zealand, to June 2025.

My method projects "Expected Deaths" using a linear regression on the weekly deaths (4-week average) from a baseline of 2015-2019 deaths.

The highest calling of journalism isn’t to tell two sides of a story.

The highest calling of journalism is to tell the truth.

And acting like a stenographer is a betrayal of your audience.
Unfortunately, in US journalism it is considered neutral to spread a lie, but it is considered "biased" to call out a lie. So, there is a structural asymmetry that rewards colorful lies with virality.
