The crazy thing about these google gemini clips, is that it's functionality as a "game" has not improved in the years since its announcement. It's simply faster and higher resolution.

You cannot just make a louder and clearer radio and say it's closer to being a television!

To be clear, this is not a referendum on the quality of AI content. Markets are spooked because they believe tools like Project Genie will allow anyone to generate a video game. This is not actually possible. If you are a trader and would like to pay me 10 million dollars to explain why, hmu

I used to buy art books for reference and inspiration. Then to support my favourite artists.

Now, in part, I buy art books so that they can sit on a forgotten shelf, where my daughter or nieces can find them at a formative time in their teenage years and think what the fuck is this?? This rules??

I started following a super generic "Gaming" account that just posts engagement/nostalgia bait and low hanging news about incredibly well known AAA games. Nothing toxic, but definitely uninformed.

I just realized how easy it is to become disconnected with what regular people know about games.

This is the most concise encapsulation of the game industry heading into 2026 I’ve seen.

Stalker 2 is not scaling well into the mid-game and I couldn't care less. Walking through haunted woodland with a geiger counter and a SVD in the rain is just such a mood.

I'm a badge-carrying Reddit disliker.

I sometimes drop a video in one indie game channel or another, then get a 200 word chastisement for not formatting it right or whatever.

So I started a no-nonsense, "normal" indie game Subreddit where people can post indie game videos, podcasts, reviews etc.

Some of my favorite foley is the anachronistic sounds that have become a shorthand. I like that when Carol switches off a flatscreen TV in Pluribus it makes a Cathode TV *schwip*. What other noise means a TV turning off!

I've been in the games industry for about 15 years, and given how challenging I fully understand game development to be after ~5 shipped games, I feel like my opinions on how to design a game successfully only get more naive over time, and all the complexity lies in the business end.
