I once saw a documentary claim that sloths spends 80% of their lives upside down, which just makes me think we're wrong about which is the upside of a sloth.

I'll point out that even Obama was opposed to gay marriage at first and so was Clinton. Obama eventually saw the writing was on the wall with a large movement for legalizing letting gay people marry and eventually acceded to a popular movement then Dems took credit for being pro gay marriage.
They tolerate or even support bathroom and sports bans for trans women in part because they see us as a group of people who has lost the privileges of our rights and will have them revoked. The white liberal is the baseline of humanity for them, and all rights are privileges that flow from them.

We got to the point where mainstream media became polite. It didn't call people "fucking lunatics" because that wasn't the language of grown up journalists.
But that is their weakness. Politicians can deliberately be fucking lunatics and the media now doesn't dare say the words.

Looking this up is how I found out that the current presenter of the News at One (who I recognise from the telly) was in my year of sixth form college and I have no memory of them but no, there they are in the year book I still have a copy of.
