Yes. Stop thinking of Supreme Court Justices as anything other than politicians.
The fetishization of legal academia and media of the Supreme Court--writing exhaustingly about the politics, the justices themselves, tea-leaf reading doctrine, coding opinions--has made us all forget where 99% of the real law actually happens & who does it.

Don't forget. Don't give up.

NY Times today writes how another check on Trump ends with Friday's Supreme Court decision. It's far worse than they are saying. That is why Democratic governors MUST start exploring withholding federal tax dollars and creating legal means for residents to pay the state their federal taxes.

📌Thanks to a loaded, radical-Right Supreme Court that believes in monarchies, not democracy, a convicted felon, who regards the truth as his mortal enemy, now has the power he needs to wage war on the citizens of this country he pillages for his gain.
It is an existential threat to the rule of law.
FIGHT BACK
Friday's fascist Supreme Court decision is designed to make us submit ... DON'T

After Trump’s Iran attack, most Democrats rallied behind Tim Kaine’s war powers resolution in the Senate — but not John Fetterman.

RFK Jr. is reportedly going to forbid government scientists from publishing in the world’s most respected medical journals — the Lancet, The New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, etc.

It’s going to take decades to repair the damage done by this administration.

Do laws matter if the court doesn't follow them?

Does the court matter if it doesn't enforce the laws?
One might have thought that last November, when Missourians voted to enshrine “reproductive freedom" in the state constitution, that would have been the end of the conversation.

Alas, the Missouri Supreme Court doesn’t seem to be inclined to listen. This week, the court halted abortions.

Despite passage of a constitutional amendment last fall, the ping-pong battle over "reproductive freedom" continues.
