I am so proud to be endorsed by Abundant Housing LA. This endorsement is important to me because I have spent my entire legal career fighting for more affordable housing and for policies that create economic security for working families.

To be clear:

LA County has declared a state of emergency BECAUSE OF the federal government.

The Feds, LA County is (correctly) saying, have CAUSED the emergency.

This is a striking political moment of internal collapse. Local govts feeling compelled to protect their ppl from … their own govt.

I watched this speech several times tonight. You can see the absolute fearlessness in her eyes, her moral clarity, her righteousness. Standing fully in her power as a woman of color, a Black woman in America. Tish James is a true American hero.

For LA, what this map says is that there are 13-22 affordable homes for every 100 extremely low-income renter households in LA County. That's people who make ~$30-45k, which is a lot of people in LA.

We need a lot more affordable housing. A lot a lot.

LA’s Housing & Homelessness Committee is meeting TOMORROW to consider capping rent increases at 3% for every rent-stabilized tenant in the city.

This could determine the rent next year for you and and 1.1 million of your neighbors.

Thanks for standing up for this! Sepulveda is a major business thoroughfare, and us Westchester residents need to be able to cross it - eight lanes would be asking for car-on-pedestrian accidents!
