Here’s how you can help: volunteer, donate, or give food to your local food banks (you can find one near you at lafoodbank.org) and connect with local mutual aid networks (see mutualaidla.org’s directory) to supply neighbors with the essential goods they need. Read more at bit.ly/48H1IQU

Once elected, I will be a housing champion on the LA City Council and look forward to continued partnership with Abundant Housing and other housing advocacy organizations.

Thank you Abundant Housing LA!

Simply put, we need more housing to solve our affordability and homelessness crises. CD11 especially needs more affordable housing as one of the least affordable districts in the City. Abundant Housing has been leading the fight to advocate for the housing solutions we need.

On a personal note, I got involved in local government after seeing then Councilmember Tish James speak about our dwindling social safety net in 2013. Thank you for inspiring a generation, Tish. We’ve got your back. We are all in this together.

Although nothing can undo the damage or replace what we’ve lost, we continue the hard work of rebuilding and preventing disasters like this from happening again in the future.

That’s why I support the demands from housing groups like Keep LA Housed and labor unions. I also support other motions being proposed to provide support for small landlords to ensure they can maintain their buildings while we keep rents affordable for renters.
