Empathy is a strength, empathy creates good public policy, empathy is how we better humanity, lack of empathy comes at a cost. Solving human problems with policy needs empathy to actually provide proven solutions. Because only when human are the outcome, do we get the solution.

For the Thursday, January 22, 2026 Board Meeting, public comment on item 10 (Sepulveda Transit Corridor), item 11 (C Line Extension), and related motions (if any) will be limited to 30 seconds per person to ensure the maximum amount of people are able to give testimony on these items. This limitation of public comment is exercised at the discretion of the Chair of the Board under Section 2-01-130 of the LACMTA Administrative Ordinance. You can email your comments to BoardClerk@metro.net and if received before 5pm on January 21, 2026, they will be sent to the full Board for their consideration prior to taking action on the items.

There is video of the shooting of a woman by ICE in Minneapolis circulating that shows an ICE agent repeatedly shooting her at point blank range while she tries to drive off. There was no obvious threat to any ICE agent.

My mother and her family came from Afghanistan decades ago. When Afghanistan fell to the Taliban, it was a huge emotional weight. Now, after years of war and sacrifice, we betrayed the allies who committed to make Afghanistan a better place.
