I just... don't understand the gabebox. What's the *actual* market here? People who want a PC in their living room? A strict gaming-only desktop that you can't upgrade? Why buy this over a pre-built PC or an Xbox or PS4 (which has exclusive games)?
Context is everything.

The new one drops into a space occupied by the Steam Deck's strides in compatibility, Big Picture, and Windows flailing.

I'm not surprised. I still really want a spicy GDC roundtable that's just shit-talking indie publishers because there's just soooo much tea.

If they can't even reply to the IGF what makes you think they'll reply to that 1m+ sub streamer? Or brand who wants $$$ collab?
blog post boiling within me titled "indie publishers, you need to get your shit together" based on this year of indie pubs submitting games to IGF w/ a demo and then when asked for a dev build so anyone can actually judge it, either ghost or go "we will provide you with a build on the release date"

PSA: If you want to render an SDF texture using an Image component and Text Mesh Pro, you can!

You need to copy the SDF shader and make two small tweaks, which I've explained in a blog post here:

BF6 thoughts: it’s….fine. I’d describe it as “COD but with more people and some vehicles”.

I’d love to learn why previous features got removed (ie: attrition system). Do features that encourage team play not playtest as well? Or trying to target other markets/players?

I got to go to "The Shape Of MOTHER" exhibition in Tokyo today. A gorgeous display of the original 180 clay models from MOTHER 1 and 2. No pictures were allowed inside, but you must go see it if you're in Tokyo between now and Sept. A truly special exhibition. I'm so happy I got to see it!

Hiring and firing is _very_ expensive. Even more so when knowledge and team cohesion is lost.

Hmm no I do remember working on Sub Rosa for 10 years without ever having consistent funding, barely being able to pay rent most of the time, working 60-70 hours a week by myself during the pandemic to finish the early access version, working another year on fixes and updates while not making a dime
