sure, but I think for most people Remote Play or Steam Link for the living room is more appealing in that case?

My guess is that they will sell at a loss or it will be around $1000. I just don’t see how it will be different this time around or what this offers over any other mini-pc or desktop

Valve's support ends when the person running the project gets bored or gets fired 🥲

But really, people who care about that just get a gaming PC. I really don't see steam machines growing the steam user base like the deck did

I’ve got 2 desktops (work, home) using this KVM with 2 144hz monitors, microphone, speakers, and like 5 USB devices. It works flawlessly and worth every $$ I paid. There’s nothing else like it on the market.

I was just thinking the other day that it'd be pretty simple to do this, thanks for figuring it out! Great way to save on memory too if you have a ton of icons

there's a lot of similarities with software design too. we don't need to teach people how to move a mouse, right click, or drag-and-drop anymore.

QA, loc, music, “additional art and design”, those people work just as hard. Sweeping them under and saying it was just 3 people is insulting.

BattleBit remastered outsold BF 2042, and it had much slower gameplay and gameplay systems like bleeding.

The market exists. There’s a lot of evidence players can learn complex but rewarding gameplay 🙂

I have so many thoughts about this, but yeah 100% agree. I just wish they’d add more feedback and rewards for helping teammates. They’ve streamlined it way too much.

That uihost process is for sure an electron app (aka chrome). It doesn’t need those resources since it’s literally just doing auth refresh and updates… but… writing a native app to do that is kind of a can of worms. Easier to say F it and use the same login browser uses 🙄
