But it’s rough out there. When we reached Housley by phone, and she told a co-worker that she was discussing dating in D.C., a voice at the other end of the line could be heard saying, “Oh nooooo!” So, that’s where we are. “I felt like, being in conservative politics, there would be more, like, masculine men in the conservative movement,” Housley says, “and I find that a lot of them aren’t as masculine as I would have hoped.”

I renovated the Lincoln Bathroom in the White House. It was renovated in the 1940s in an art deco green tile style, which was totally inappropriate for the Lincoln Era. I did it in black and white polished Statuary marble. This was very appropriate for the time of Abraham Lincoln and, in fact, could be the marble that was originally there!
